Has it really been that long?  Two years?  730 days?  730 and 1/2 days (for any detail oriented people out there)?

The puppies turned two years old this past Sunday.  December 13.  I really can’t believe it.  That means that as of January 27th, we will have had them as a part of our family for two years.

I really can’t believe it.  They have brought such happiness to us (I sound like a new mom, you would think I was talking about human beings!) and we love them so much.  And God knows they’re spoiled (as Shep is laying on the couch with his head on my lap snoring).

Sometimes it feels like we’ve had them for forever and ever.  And other times it feels like it was just yesterday we drove the 8 hours to go pick them up in southern Georgia.

L worked on Sunday, so we threw a puppy birthday party on Monday instead.  It was complete with birthday hats, singing and presents.  🙂  They each got a special chew bone treat and posed so nicely with their hats on.  It’s really quite funny how well they cooperate for photos sometimes.

Dixie wore her hat, but wasn’t as keen about it.  She even had her tail tucked some of the time.  Who knows why, she can be so strange about stuff sometimes.

Dad, why do you do this to me?

I still love you though!

Poor Shep has had a rough year of people poking and prodding at his eye.  Getting good news, then bad news, then ultimately good news.  And it seems to be staying that way.  The tumor was successfully removed, he got to keep his eye, and as of right now, it doesn’t look like he’ll have to have any more surgeries.

So, Happy Birthday to our puppy dogs, we love you!  And they may even make an appearance in our wedding.  Because how cute would Shep look wearing a bowtie like this?
